Senior Pastor

Pastor Brent Hulett

Dr. Brent Hulett is passionate about people. In fact, his calling could be boiled down to his commitment to drawing people one step closer to God’s perfect plan through a focus on personal Bible study and expository preaching, calling individuals to holy living, developing godly leaders, and involving people in effective ministry.

Brent has been involved in ministry leadership for over twenty years. He has been the senior pastor of churches in Washington, Missouri and in the Philippines. As a missionary in the Philippines he coordinated 13 colleges and seminaries for the Church of the Nazarene in the Asia-Pacific Region. While there he was asked to pastor the International Nazarene Fellowship in Manila where people from 14 countries and missionaries from 18 denominations worshiped together.

He has been involved in leading international ministry organizations. From 2002-2006 he was the Director of Faculty Development for International Institute for Christian Studies. In 2006 the Huletts were asked to move to Florida for Brent to become the Vice President of Wycliffe Associates (part of the Wycliffe Bible Translator family). Under his leadership the missions organization grew 41% in just two years.

Currently Brent is serving as Senior Pastor of Grandview Church of the Nazarene in Grandview, WA. This church of 500 in attendance has had over 20 small groups and has played a significant part in the spiritual life of three communities in the Yakima Valley.

He loves reading in the areas of church or American history, leadership and biblical studies. His hobbies include hiking in the woods, collecting percussion instruments around the world, or pretending he is strong enough to win wrestling matches with his teenage sons. He has traveled and ministered in 40 countries and loves trying new and often strange foods. To prove his inability to be “hip” he is sometimes seen wearing socks with sandals.

Brent has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary where he specialized in pastoral theology. His dissertation focused on how to create and communicate vision for a local church and then how to connect it with the ministry plan. He is known for his strong gifts in expositional preaching and leadership development.

Brent and his wife Darla have been friends since age 13 and have now been married for 25 years. Darla loves to minister through her gifts in singing, playing the piano and working with children.

Brent and Darla have two sons, Jordan (23) and Andrew (20) and currently live in Grandview, Washington.
