Things I Wish Jesus Had Never Said: Part 2
“How hard it is for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!” No denying it’s you and me. Face it. Face what Jesus said: people who have much don’t seek much that matters because our mouths and bellies and hands and purses and wallets and closets and garages are full so consistently that we never have opportunity to hunger and thirst after righteousness. Is it hard for a person who has much to follow Jesus? Yes. Impossible? No. Then how? Do what He asks you to do with your wealth: tithe (sacred act of surrender and trust); offerings (generous act of gratitude, compassion, partnership w God); sacrifice (choose to give beyond comfort level when you can see that some effort/person/initiative/project is more important than your comfort); realize it is a test more than a blessing.
